PROGRAMME RATIO

1 UNIT
This diagram shows the arrangement of different programme in my bath house. Inspired by my research on Withington Baths, this arrangement is a result of my evaluation on Withington Baths.
WHO

Spending time in a bath house will naturally help you unwind, release tension and clear your head. Bath house reduces stress and poor habits before they occur.
The bath house acts a social space in the central of Stretford. It provides opportunities for people to spend quality time with their family and friends in Stretford through health and well-being.
Many older people have been observed visiting Stretford as a part of their daily routine to meet friends, stay warm and resting on the bench. Having a bath house, they will have a better environment that caters to their daily needs.
With the increase in the number of homeless people in Manchester, there is a demand for proper healthcare. This bath house will be able to provide basic sanitation facilities to them.

CASE STUDY: Withington Bath and Leisure Centre
TWO MAIN CIRCULATIONS IN THE BATH HOUSE
A three day ethnography observation was carried out to understand the circulation within a bath house. Withington Bath and Leisure Centre was chosen as it is an adaptation of a historical bath house with modern pool.

Through the observation, I have concluded that there were two main circulation within the space (as shown on the diagram). And it is more common for the users to change in the cubicles along the pool. It is a more efficient method as compared to going to the changing room.

Some limitations of Withington Baths and Leisure Centre:
- no seating space for parents to sit and observe their children
- circulation due to the shower location
- misused of changing cubicles
- small corridor along the poolside
